Family, Friends & Windy Wellington

Kia ora koutou katoa,

It’s great to be back in ‘The land of the long white cloud’ and what better way to start it all off than catching up with family and friends at the beginning of our Vibe Tour of New Zealand. BBQ’s, beers and great kiwi vibes setting us off on the path towards an exciting week inspiring better education across New Zealand.

With the weekend fun in the sun behind us, we were off on our way to our first stop on the NZ Vibe Tour – Wellington. Starting the day off right with a great tasting kiwi coffee…or two, we flew off to ‘Windy Wellington’. We certainly had all four seasons in one hour, and the typical bumpy approach into Wellington  before we made our way to Cuba Street to meet Stanley Frielick from Ako Aotearoa for lunch.

It was great to hear all the amazing work he and his colleagues are doing to inspire the best educational outcomes in New Zealand! And of course he thought what we do is pretty awesome too!

When in Wellington, you must visit ‘The Beehive’ which is the Executive Wing of New Zealand’s parliament building. It is so-called because it’s shape is reminiscent of that of a traditional woven form of beehive. Do you see the resemblance?

What do us Kiwis love to do in London?…Have a beersie at the pub. So we thought why not continue that trend back home where it all started.

A nice ice cold Mac’s Three Wolves Pale Ale to top off an enjoyable and productive day in the capital city…

Next stop…Dunedin and the University of Otago where we will be meeting some aspiring teachers and talking about our experiences teaching in London and playing in Europe.

Haere ra and be sure to like our Vibe Teaching Facebook page to follow our #VibeOnTour around New Zealand this week.
