Our smiling Ben (Benno, Benny) is one of the friendly voices and faces that you chat to when you first get in contact with Vibe. Benny is originally from the Blue Mountains in NSW, Australia and has now been in London for over 8 years. Ben is a man of many talents where he was a Zookeeper for 6 years, before doing a hotel management trainee ship and then decided to study to become a PE Teacher. Ben is also a very talented singer, so be sure to ask him to sing you a tune!
Tell us about your story with Vibe
I worked in different schools in London through another agency before making the move across to Vibe. I started working in the office as a consultant about 4 and a half years ago before progressing to leading the Red Team. I then moved across to the Resource Team where I am now managing the team and meeting all the new teachers.
What do you love most about working with Vibe?
The awesome office we work in and the awesome people I get to work with every day.
What’s the best thing about living in London?
There is always something exciting going on and exceptional access to Europe for travel adventures.
What’s your favourite area in London? Why?
Brixton – there are some really awesome cafes, restaurants, bars, pubs but also loads of cultural influence from the Afro-Caribbean community as well,
What’s your favourite pub in London?
The Churchill Arms in Notting Hill or Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese in central London.
What’s one of your best travel experiences?
The best travel experience I have had was when I spent two weeks travelling through Turkey with my Kiwi mate and spent ANZAC Day in Galipoli. Such an amazing experience!
What are your top tips for teachers in London?
- Enjoy all the experiences – the positive and the constructive.
- Don’t call them pants ‘pants’ – they are ‘trousers.
- Embrace the diversity of London schools.
What/who are you most inspired by?
People who are humble and try to see the best in others.

Life is fleeting and you can’t stuff with you when you go, so invest in important things like people and relationships.
