Jimmy grew up in scorching hot Rocky (Rockhampton) in central Queensland, Australia and studied teaching at uni in Toowoomba. An avid footy fan and family man, Jimmy now lives in Wimbledon and manages both the Blue and Green teams here at Vibe HQ!
Tell us about your story with Vibe
I contacted Vibe back in 2006 as I was looking for sponsorship to stay in London. After getting my sponsorship, I worked as a teacher in two different Vibe schools over the course of 8 years. I then made the move to work in the Vibe office two years ago and am now managing two of the teams.
What do you love most about working with Vibe?
I love meeting new people and helping grow relationships with both schools and candidates. I also love work in such a positive and inspiring environment every day.
What’s the best thing about living in London?
There is always something on in London – so many places to explore and lots to learn.
What’s your favourite area in London? Why?
Wimbledon – especially in the summer (and it’s where I live!)
What’s your favourite pub in London?
Too many to mention! It also depends on what I’m doing…watching the rugby, catching up with friends etc
What’s one of your best travel experiences?
It is a tough choice between camping in the south of France with my family or going to New York this last February.
What are your top tips for teachers in London?
Try it! Always reflect on your experiences.
What/who are you most inspired by?
My Dad – he taught me the value of hard work and the importance of giving back to your community.
