The lovely Lizzie is one part of our Purple Team here at Vibe. Lizzie is originally from central west NSW, Australia where she studied a Bachelor in Primary Education and a Masters in Special and Inclusive Education. Lizzie taught in Sydney for 6 years before she came over to London almost a year ago. You will often find Lizzie at a sporting event…most likely the rugby but also anything else where Australia is playing!
Tell us about your story with Vibe
I came over to London almost a year ago now and taught as a supply teacher for 3 months in Vibe’s wonderful SEN schools. I gained so much valuable experience before I moved to work in the Vibe office at the beginning of this school year supporting firstly our SEN schools and now our primary schools.
What do you love most about working with Vibe?
I love supporting our wonderful London schools and meeting to many amazing Vibers from all around the world with such different backgrounds and stories.
What’s the best thing about living in London?
There is so much vibrancy and diversity in London – there is ALWAYS something happening and fun to be had! Plus, who can forget the proximity to Europe and the endless places to travel to.
What’s your favourite area in London? Why?
Wimbledon – South West is best! The atmosphere around the tennis tournament is incredible, but the buzz around the village and the common is there all year round.
What’s your favourite pub in London?
The Churchill Arms in Kensington. It’s just so pretty with all the flowers on the outside, the Thai is delicious and the atmosphere is amazing.
What’s one of your best travel experiences?
Can I have two? I absolutely loved Greek island hopping last summer and also my adventure to New York where the food, sport, activities, views etc were amazing!
What are your top tips for teachers in London?
Be flexible, be prepared for travel mishaps (they happen), be positive, provide feedback back to the team both good and bad so we can make your teaching experience an enjoyable one.
What/who are you most inspired by?
Emma Watson – she is one of those people who fight for what is right in the world and helps others.
