Little legs took the leap of faith into the moving capsule of the London Eye. Pupils dilated in awe. “Big Ben”, “The Tower of London”, “The Shard”, “Parliament”, “A shark!”, came the calls…
Teachers in London have so many great opportunities right on their doorstep! On this adventure, we inspired a Year 2 class with a soaring sight-seeing flight over London…
When you look back on school, what do you remember? Sports days, camps, field trips – probably anything that got you out of the classroom right! That’s why for us it’s always so exciting to be able to give kids these experiences, because you know it’s going to impact on them for life and last month, I got to relive the field trip magic with one of my favourite London schools, St Joseph’s in Putney.
As the kids came flooding into class, the buzz was infectious. Who was in whose group? Whose mum or dad was coming? Would you get to sit next to your best friend on the way there? What was for lunch? A bit different from my 1999 trip to the Pulp and Paper Mill!

Now on the Tube and at Vauxhall, with only one stop to go, there were suddenly squeals … “I see it! I see it!” It was our first glimpse of The Eye and the excitement grew!
