Teaching Journeys with Vibe

Our early November Candidate function brought together a range of Teachers and Teaching assistants from right across our awesome community.  Great to see them enjoying the chance to get together, check out the vibe office and compare stories from the classroom.

Vibe Primary Teachers enjoying time out from teaching in London

Purple team represent! Here are some of our most dedicated and energetic teachers from the Primary Purple team. Meet Cam, Amy, Emily (sneaky addition from the Blue team – how did she get in there?!) Felicity, Briellen and Melinda. This happy crew hail from all over Australia and New Zealand, met through teaching with Vibe and have formed a formidable friendship. Thanks for all your efforts guys!

Viber Lockie with British Teaching Assistant

Here’s Viber Lockie from the Orange Team with Sara, a friendly British Teaching Assistant who joined the community at the beginning of the year. Sara has been thriving in her role as a Learning Support Assistant, working one-on-one with a student who has learning difficulties. She is enjoying her time at the North London School where the student is based and has even referred family members to Vibe! Thanks for your contributions Sara!

Vibe Consultant Sarah with qualified teacher from Romania at Candidate Networking Event

Here’s Vibe Consultant Sarah, flanked by Florentina on the left and Rachel on the right.
Florentina is a qualified teacher originally from Romania and has been teaching in London through Vibe for about a year now. She enjoys the energy of the early years pupils she has been working with.

Rachel also brings her passion  for Key Stage 1 students to the schools she has been working with. She has recently secured a block of work with a primary school in London’s south.

Australians Edwina and Kate talking about teaching in London at Candidate Networking Drinks

Edwina (left, seen here with Vibe marketing guru Kate) moved to London from country Victoria, Australia on an ancestry visa. She has spent the majority of the past few years working as a nanny which she has thoroughly enjoyed. With just a few months left before returning home, she has put her finely honed skills working with children to use in the classroom. She is relishing the opportunity to work as a Teaching Assistant through Vibe in a number of primary schools in London’s south.
She hopes to use this experience to better prepare herself to undertake a Master of Teaching Qualification upon returning to Australia. Good luck Edwina!

Vibe Teachers at Vibe HQ on Friday Night Drinks

A brand-new addition to the Vibe family! Jiselle (centre) has really hit the ground running since moving to London from the Gold Coast, Australia. She’s a Secondary English Teacher.

Emma, (right) from the Netherlands, has now been in London for four years. She has been undertaking some Teaching Assistant roles and aspires to complete her PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) and become a fully fledged teacher.

Experienced Teaching Assistant from Bulgaria speaking with Greek language teacher from Cyrus, Greece at Vibe Candidate function

Experienced Teaching Assistant and folk dance instructor Elena, from Bulgaria, has been teaching in secondary schools through Vibe for over a year. She’s currently posted at a specialist school for the visually impaired and is thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to impact young lives in a positive way.
She has gotten right on board with our Vibe T.shirt competition and can be seen wearing it at festivals from recent trips to Russia alongside performers in traditional dress as well as at many other locations and events.

Ioannis is a Greek Language Teacher from Cyprus who is relatively new to the Vibe community. He has been undertaking some Teaching Assistant work in a supply capacity and has enjoyed the opportunity to gain experience in schools all over London.

Vibe Man having fun with Vibe Teachers Simon, Thomas and Trent

Simon, (left) from the Gold Coast, Australia, a mechanic by trade, made the decision to move to London with his girlfriend Lorena (our star Viber now working in in the Finance team!) in November 2015. Through connections with friends they learned about opportunities to work as Teaching Assistants in London schools. Simon has been enjoying working in a close-knit team supporting a special needs secondary student in a youth centre in south west London.

Thomas (centre – behind Vibe Man!) heard how well his school mate Simon was going in London and decided to make the move too. Originally from an events background, he too has enjoyed the change into teaching assisting and has also been working to support special needs students within a school environment.

Trent (right), from country Victoria, Australia, also worked in a completely different field before arriving in London a few months ago. He too has been working as a full time Teaching Assistant, providing wheelchair and generalist support for students with complex needs in a south London school.

Thanks to all our wonderful candidates for the difference you are making in London schools!  See you at our Christmas Jumper Party!
