With both his parents teachers, the big man Jacob (a.k.a. Harty) was destined to become a teacher himself. Harty is originally from Albury, Australia before he headed north to Wollongong to complete his teaching degree at Wollongong Uni. Jacob settled here in the big smoke, arriving on New Years Eve back in 2014 and now finds himself Team Leader of the mighty Red team here at Vibe. If you don’t see Harty here in the office or with a pint in his hand at Flynn’s, you will most likely find him watching any kind of sport…
Tell us about your story with Vibe
I heard about Vibe through a mate so I got in touch and came in and registered. A few months after teaching in some London schools I joined the team in the Vibe office. It definitely changed my London life and definitely for the better!
What do you love most about working with Vibe?
The people, the challenges and constantly thinking outside the box.
What’s the best thing about living in London?
If you can think it, you can most likely do it in London.
What’s your favourite area in London? Why?
London Fields in East London where anything goes!
What’s your favourite pub in London?
The Grand Union in Brixton – great atmosphere and an even better beer garden! Great for these hot summer days…
What’s one of your best travel experiences?
Turkey would have to be up there…amazing place, amazing history. As an Australian, it was very humbling to visit Anzac Cove.
What are your top tips for teachers in London?
Embrace the school’s way – it’s always good to try a new way or approach and ALWAYS back yourself.
What/who are you most inspired by?
My family – mostly teachers and all very inspiring individuals.

Jacob you are carved from the Hart family mould.
Amazing work ethic, always getting in and doing what needs to be done and then MORE.. Rock solid and Not just because you are a big lug (hee hee). With amazing support network if you ever waver.
But once the knock off bells sounds – life of the party working hard at having fun.
So proud of you Jacob your tall like your dad but you look like your mum!!!

How are you and your beautiful family? Your boys would be fast becoming men by now wouldn’t they? When the travel bug hits them my door is always open. I showed them a couple tricks of the trade as youngsters, I’m sure I could show them a couple more in London 🙂
